so i know prog usually hates on IDEs and everything that is not vi(m)/emacs.

but i was wondering if any of you use geany, a small, leightweight gtk+ based ide with support for a lot of languages.

Yeah I do, but I use make to compile and debug using a cli, Geany is really just a fancy text editor for me

I was used geany for a while, when I was a student. Now I use gVim - the strongest.
