African programmers

Since you're one of the lesser racist boards on 4chan I have a question. Is it possible for an African to become a successful programmer? And by that I mean, could he become anything more than a code monkey? Would he be able to get hired in the sea of Asians?

This thread is now about inappropriate use of sage. Why does no one sage when replying here, but actual programming threads disappear in hours because all the interesting posts also sage? Are you people just not paying attention to what you are bumping and what you are not?
