I don't follow any blogs, but if I find some interesting post when searching for something, or having someone link it to me, I may read it if I find it interesting.
Here's an interesting one I came across the other day: http://insidelisp.blogspot.com/
It's about someone exploring SBCL's internals, especially the compiler. A while ago, I did look at the frontend, so I was familiar with the things he talked in the first half of his posts, but I never did get far enough to be able to fully understand IR1 handler code, which is written in a pretty specialized compiler DSL. Funnily enough, non-portable x86 IR2 VOPs are actually understandable to me to some degree as I do know x86 asm.

Or I could have just lurked #lisp as someone there might have posted it. It's not really relevant as when you need to find information about something, you look it up on a search engine and find most public information that you're looking for.

I don't care what issues you have, but don't project them onto innocent bystanders. In the past few days more threads have been derailed by idiots whining about the Xarn cult than by the cult itself.
Back on topic, I don't think there are any programming blogs that are consistently good, so it would be nice if there were some sort of aggregation site where people can just submit the best posts. Does anyone know of any that aren't overrun by morons?

God damn I suck, wrong thread.
Why, oh why doesn't world4ch support deleting posts, so that this mistake wouldn't torment me forever?

That horrible. HE MADE A POST IN WRONG THREAD.
One day a powerful AI which started reading shiichan for informational purposes absorbs the post out of context and decides that humanity is worthless.

Yeah! Fuck reading! If I haven't thought of it myself it's worthless!

Yeah! Fuck reading attention whores personal opinions! If I haven't thought of it myself or by reading SICP or other good books, but instead heard it from some guy who may or may not be a reliable source it's worthless!

There's no fundamental difference between books and blogs. Pretending that all blogs are like Atwood's is like pretending that all books are like MDickie's.

I don't think the opinion has changed much. There are marginally more worthwhile blogs since then, but the vast majority are pretty much as >>27 has it.
The same is true for books.
I wasn't talking about books, but I really think you should try reading one sometime.

Because reading books automatically makes you a smarter man, even though there are more efficient media that convey the same information. Wake up, sheeple, people don't read the SICP, they watch the lectures.
