Good mpeg1 book

Name: Anonymous 2010-06-03 15:53

Any /prog/gers know of a good book that covers the entire mpeg1 ISO standard that is cheaper than paying $500 USD1 the standard itself?

____________
1. That's just for 1,2 & 3 of the standard: http://mpeg.chiariglione.org/standards/mpeg-1/mpeg-1.htm

Pretty sure you can find copies of the standards in PDF if you google hard enough. Asking developers who developed free mpeg1 decoders or encoders might also be a good idea (or visiting their sites).

Hint: Try googling with filetype:pdf

Some stuff seems to be free, not sure if any of it's useful though:

I have some journal access but no access to iso standards. Here's a three possibly relevant articles chosen at random. If there's some specific you have a doi then that might be better than guessing http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=22c19298be7db28161d4646c62b381cb5dd3f290fcd1fb996d217c73094ddc3b

>>5 pretty much has a right though. Join the vlc, mplayer, gstreamer or xine developers' irc channel. Don't be too obvious about it. Maybe ask a general question about getting specs, then if someone can hook you up they might pm you.
