Dear /prog/

I'm the guy who's been complaining about the downfall of /prog/ for the last few weeks. I'm the guy who has been harassing you people who just came here last week and pretend that you're regulars.

I just wanted to say that I'll be leaving you alone from now on. I've seen countless online communities die, and by now, I have a grasp of how these things work. Basically, it doesn't matter how cool our "secret club" used to be, you newbies outnumber us now. Once the new members become larger and more vocal than the original members, it doesn't matter what we say anymore. Without moderation, no one can deter you. You become the regulars.

All of you that showed up within the past few months, here you go. This is your board now. I'm leaving, and everyone else who ever meant anything to the real /prog/ is gone already. Go ahead and do what you want, you all seem perfectly happy this way.

I'm not sorry for anything I said. I meant every word of it. In the end, however, I'm but one powerless voice on an anonymous message board. It's better for me to accept what's already happened and move on. I can't change shit, anyway.
