His post reeks of "please validate me", so I'd say he was looking for permission and I granted it.

Python, Ruby or Lua are all good choices. The Lua people try to make a hard sell for its functional programming features even though Lua has less functional programming features than Python or Perl. And stay away from Perl unless you are a hardcore sysadmin. If you want a scripting language that is as fast as Lua but has full object orientation and uses C type bracket syntax then you should try Squirrel http://squirrel-lang.org/
and there is even version of squirrel as a shell language http://squirrelsh.sourceforge.net/
this is what C shell should have been if Bill Joy understood scripting languages
Well, I was just trying to test out Links, and this was the first page I loaded up. Sorry that this isn't related to the topic, I wanted to give posting a try. That's all I'm doing here, you see. I'm not trying to hurt anybody, and I'm certainly not trying to hurt anybody's thread.
That's right, I'm sorry, OP, for polluting your thread.
I'm sorry to all of /prog/, for making a post like this. I really am. I swear I'll do my best in the future to be a good /prog/rider!
On another note, cool, that's what it looks like to scroll an input box in Links. This is surprisingly usable!

Is this even relevant to the topic at hand or just your way of saying "I've used Links"?
