Referring to yourself as me-san either means: you're an ignorant foreigner (this is mostly tolerable) or you're conveying a level of conceit that isn't even displayed by high ranking dignitaries. Either way, it's not a good thing if you want to communicate with Japanese speaker in any meaningful way.
