4ch post reporting script

Name: op !7zdHQdoMVU 2009-10-28 23:07

I was losering around on ED and discovered 4chan.js, and enjoyed the read, and subsequently re-discovered /prog/ via a google search for same.

I report a lot of spam, as I'm sure we all do...

Instead of going insane, and having a one minute timer to remind me when I can report again. I envision a script that can take a list of post #s, wait the requisite minute, and fire off the POST.

Ideally, the 4ch firefox script would include this, similar to the ThreadWatcher feature.

Also, if I knew how trivial is was to POST in .js, I wouldn't have had to rig a nasty USB/powerstrip bodge to reset my old cable modem when it lost sync... the webreboot page worked, but the submit button stumped me.

If anyone can give me a parred down .js to report a single post via post#, I can take of the rest I requested.

I believe different boards have different reporting addresses, so this might not perfect, might need awareness of the board+post#.

-OR- If anyone has any better post reporting ideas / Current solution I am unaware of, please share.

Stop being a faggot.

Imageboards with spam have no real moderation to begin with.
For exmample, go consult all the 10 pages of /t/, and go see how much week old blatantly rule-infringing shit there is.

Moot has let his web sight become a shithole because banned members don't get to see adverts.

i didn't read your post because you're a tripfag.
get out.

Xarn is an occasional tripfag, are you suggesting that you wouldn't read his posts?

I don't know about you, but I still remember when /t/ was one of the best-moderated boards on 4chan, and unfitting threads were usually deleted within an hour.

Well, not anymore though.

Let's assume we have a list of all offensive posts in progshit.txt

#!/bin/sh
for POST_ID in $(cat progshit.txt)
do
    wget -O /dev/null --post-data 'confirmed=y&submit=Yes' http://dis.4chan.org/report/prog/$POST_ID
    sleep 1m
done

when he posts with a trip, yes.

Please enhance the script so that it reports every thread in subject.txt.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-30 8:27

lol.
do you really think that the 4chan mods will be able to keep up with a script?
they will be flooded with reports.
doing something like this would make our moderation even less effective. not that i'm complaining. reporting posts is for faggots.

That's why I took this example actually.

spoiler: nobody mans the report system, it just uses quotas to auto-delete threads/replies

>>6 , I only trip'ed [tripped?] myself for op'thenticity. [Although, when I post elsewhere, it's confusing to re-read my posts, as I forget which are mine...]

>>12 , I agree with you, and if 14 is right it's irrelevant. I'm only really interested in spam nonsense. I don't care about BS posts, or rule issues [unless deliberately worse than spam].

>>14 , that's even better then, more reports faster == better, without the issue of overburdening janitors

>>3 , Good points. Thought: make it so banned users see more ads? [insert credit to continue?... although that could spiral worse quickly]

>>9 , Thanks for this. I think I considered wget briefly when I was plagued with my modem issues, but was still caught out with the POST shite. [mental retardation basically]. I was going to ask how it would fare with the .txt being updated, but If I actually get off my ass and use it, It probably won't be for'ed. I'll try and figure out a simple [or maybe an overly complex] way to insert post-id#s as it's running.

Forum/board software in general should display a warning when replying to ancient threads. I think most of these are actually accidental.
