Distro for real men

Suppose you are a good programmer (as I guess everyone in this board should be). What unix system (lunix distro or *bsd) would you use in order to satisfy your needs and proclaim a real Hacker of the Code?

Well, I use Ubantu, and I despise all front-ends to any and all CLI programmes. I tried PCBSD, and nothing was working when I got there and I had to spend several hours to make it work. I'm not saying that the default Ubantu config files are good, I'm saying that they are there (and will be sooner or later altered).

The worst thing about Ubantu is the community; while helpful when you're new, most of them are clueless when you ask a real-life (L)unix question.
