Best message-passing library for Java?

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-17 11:22

I'm toying with writing a network-distributed program in which various peers (instances of the program) communicate to each other by passing various messages. Java seems like the appropriate choice because speed isn't absolutely important (network lag will slow everything down,) and WORE would be very nice. I've found numerous message-passing libraries for Java, but would like to know which one /prog/ likes best.

I'd prefer the library to be FOSS (don't care if GPL/LGPL/BSD/etc.)

Use a real language

I was considering using Erlang, but then I remembered its funky syntax and the trouble I had getting a simple distributed "area server" example to work from the book.

Heh, 2009 and people are still falling for Java hype from the '90s.

Use an Erlang FFI library for $whatever_fucking_language_you_want.

Looks like Jxta is just what I need. Thanks for nothing, /prog/.

You're more than welcome to get the fuck out and read your SICP.

All the more reason to disregard these threads. Retards like OP have to first learn reading comprehension. These people wouldn't ask trivial questions if they had the two brain cells to rub together and be able fucking read. >>8 is a testimony to that. Problem is, one has to have an attention span beyond that of a cocker spaniel.
