* Python Programming for the Absolute Beginner by Michael Dawson
* Learning Python, 3rd Edition by Mark Lutz
*Python in a Nutshell, Second Edition (In a Nutshell (O'Reilly)) by Alex Martelli
*Python Cookbook by Alex Martelli

I am completely new at python. What one do I get? Or would you recommend a different one?

I feel obligated to mention Beginning Python, though I've actually only read a few chapters of it.
It shows a backtracking solution to the eight queens problem, which I guess is kind of good.

The tutorial is plenty if you know already know how to program, though.
