Have you observed this shit?

He wrote some neat programs but now he's got fucktonnes of 'converts' to some bizarre idealogy that involves saying 'semantic' every second fucking semantic word. Basically his followers have this sickeningly idilic view of programming (and everyone that doesn't agree is closed minded) and they even copy his vocabulary and idioms.. I'm lost for words, I thought functional programming and engineering in general was about thinking for yourself. I guess I was wrong

That is exactly the essence of thinking for yourself.  If you have a problem that can be solved in software, but isn't solved, you need to do something nobody else has done.  Programmers never copy or reproduce existing answers, because the machine can do that itself.
