how can i learn linux well?

    can anyone give me some suggestions or recommend some books about LINUX for me? i want to get familiar with it, but dont know how to cut through ....

is it like a test? Real GNU/linux users say linux and only impressionable RMS fanboys say linux? it's like a secret code that everyone knows except me.
