Firefox memory leak

Name: Anonymous 2009-05-12 5:37

This is why I have to reboot about once a week... leaking memory from Firefox. I go to open a VM, and I'm suddenly having to use some swap.

However, I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04, and overall memory usage seems to be down a bit... maybe I can probably go longer between reboots now.

is there like a totally aewsome browser framework that is just like a plugin hoster, and you can load plugins which get a tab and a process within the hoster and can do stuff eg load a webpage.

this would be totally aewsome for 2 reasons

if a webpage has loads of gayness and plugins and hangs it can be killed easily without killing the whole "browser".

loads of plugins could be written by open source basement dwellers like an msn one and an email one and a irc one and a whatever one and all be in this nice tidy framework of aewsomeness.
