Right now my other computer is scanning all the files I'm about to have to delete (and it's a lot) with TrendMicro. It identifed the photo2.jpg.exe that *I* opened, failed to clean it, then deleted it. Shit's still sifting through all the files I'm about to lose.
What the virus does is it removes everything from my desktop and removes the taskbar. On some startups, it will clear all that stuff only for it to popback up, and it will show the system tray load and then it will do it again, and again, until it doesn't come back.
I hang my head in shame. I know that it doesn't get n00bier than that, and I never thought I would do such a thing. I just didn't look at the file type. I hadn't slept all night. I failed. GOODBYE EVERYTHING IVE DOWNLOADED, ALL THE PICTURES IVE SAVE, ALL THE GAMES I WARESED, ALL THE TORRENTS I HAD, ALL THE SEVERAL 10s OF THOUSANDS OF SONGS. It was a good fucking run.
