/prog/, what is the best programming language, as far as speed, robustness, and paradigms go?

Inb4 Read SICP followed by masturbating furiously to Scheme.

C
its about as fast as youull ever get and it has tons of libraries and the paradigms are simple but thats good

ASM

Speed: It's as fast as you are.
Robustness: Yes, I went there.
Paradigms: You make your own fun. Want to make a runtime generated and optimized chainable executable datastructure forming an I/O pipe between to coroutines, you say? In ASM you can.

Haskell is as fast as C, or faster (since the GHC compiler and purity of the language allows for extensive optimization techniques). And in terms of paradigms, you will find it quite educational.

Simula
Det er omtrent så raskt som du får det, har haugevis av kule biblioteker, og paradigmene er litt kompliserte, men det er bra.

i think it IS fast as you'll ever get and it DOES have tons of libraries and the paradigms ARE simple.
