Whatever happened to it. It used to be "the big new thing" but that died down.
Now it's back to the same old C/C++, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I'm just curious why all the enthusiasm for Java is gone.

All the SCALABLE ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS in Java-land drained out the enthusiasm. The MSFT remake didn't help it either.
And there are tons of other languages for the cool kids to get into, even if some of them are SLOW AS FUCK
