Development Income

Sup /prog/,

I'm trying to find some statistics comparing income for individuals developing software under an open source license compared to a closed source license. The idea of comparison itself is easy enough, just by comparing compensation allowed through developing under, say, the GPL versus a private license, but it would be nice to have some solid numbers. Anything at all would be helpful.

Otherwise, feel free to let this drift off to page 10. :)

Fixed. Unless by open source, you mean what would be closed source projects masquerading as open source to gain access to the large free development community and be able to maintain a reasonable userbase even while the product is horrible. Simply by virtue of it being open source alot of opportunities open up. See "Ubuntu" for a classic example.
