Development Income

Sup /prog/,

I'm trying to find some statistics comparing income for individuals developing software under an open source license compared to a closed source license. The idea of comparison itself is easy enough, just by comparing compensation allowed through developing under, say, the GPL versus a private license, but it would be nice to have some solid numbers. Anything at all would be helpful.

Otherwise, feel free to let this drift off to page 10. :)

RMS
Is a troll.

emacs
lol

RedHat
A shitty distro.

JBoss
ENTERPRISE shit, created specifically to impress dumbshits in suits who don't know anything about what they're buying, except that it has Java in the name.

SugarCRM
More ENTERPRISE shit.

MySQL
Pile of shit; a miserable excuse for a halfassed, broken SQL implementation.

Novell
They store all of their liquid assets in the toilet, and are desperately trying to get it to flush.

SUN
All they have is their Java shitware, and they even give it away. Stupid fucking business model if you ask me.
(And it's not an acronym, dumbfuck)

APPLE
If not for the iPod and iPhone, they would be bankrupt. Their software is garbage that barely runs.
(Also not an acronym, dumbfuck.)

Mozilla
What do they have to offer? A shitty bloated web browser that they give away for free. Also ask a random person on the street if they've heard of Mozilla, you'll probably get a blank stare. But ask them about Firefox and they'll know.
