Java is taking over

Sun is becoming our new overlord.  Ever since Sun took 90% of the suck out of C++, Java has been everywhere and its growing.
It's used for 3D and 2D commercial games:

It's used for web applications; flash is too limiting:

Even the demoscene, traditionally the realm of hardcore asm/c++ programmers is embracing it:

Businesses love it, it makes software cheap to maintain.

Java overwhelmingly tops the chart of the most used programming languages: http://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html
More people code in Java than C++, C# and python put together!

It's also used for web servers:

It's extensively used on embedded devices:

Love it or hate it, Java is the future.  People used to say you should use the right tool for the job when it comes to programming languages.  These days Java is becoming the duct tape of tools, it runs everywhere and does everything but low level OS work.  It can solve nearly any software problem.
