Your browser doesn't seem to understand the APPLET tag. You need to install and enable the Java plugin.
Fuck you, provide a screenshot.

Java plugin.
No thanks

I use Debian, and I have the Java plugin installed. It doesn't work.

Fix your installation.

Java? Who the hell uses Java on the web anymore? I thought everyone gave up on that shit and moved to Flash.

I mean really, it's clearly the lesser of two evils.

That's definitely inaccurate. For one, the massive "C++" inexplicably overpowers the correct and preferred spelling of "Sepples". "Sussman" and "Scheme" are too small, and /prog/ is misspelled without the slashes and spoiler. "Help" is way too damn big, and the "don't" and "him" that ought to be right next to it are conspicuously absent. (And what is that "halp" doing there?) There's "Emacs" and "Vim", but no "ed"; "Linux" and "Windows" but no "Anonix"; there's "lambda" but no "loeb"!

(I would ask where FROZENVOID is on there, but I guess Wordle has the Greasemonkey plugin installed.)

As the title suggests, those are words from /prog/ topics, not the posts themselves.

And your point is? It's still inaccurate as hell.

It's omitting the most usual English words, but otherwise it's straight from http://dis.4chan.org/prog/subject.txt and I don't know how to make it any more accurate than that.

Its apparently a poorly implemented frequency list from scraping list/prog/ pages.( BBCODE should be larger)

Xarn, could you do the frequency analysis with the threads' content?

My perma-global-ban disappeared today for some reason so I might recode the scraper in Clojure when I have time.

Apparently there already are scrapers using prog

Where a word is [a-zA-Z]+. I'll let you figure out what's markup and what isn't.

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-18 15:35

That's problematic because some of the words (like `prog', `read', `code', and `class') are used both in markup and content.

Name: Anonymous 2009-01-18 17:07

I don't even understand why is that an applet to begin with. It's a static image.

To ensure people who don't know how to take screenshots link to the website. I'm assuming it's an ad revenue thing.
Alternatively, Java may be the only language the guy who made it knows.
