Sub-pixel rendering in assembly

Name: Noob 2008-12-31 23:30

Hi /prog/
Can anyone point out some links where I can find some tutorials for drawing on the screen at the sub-pixel level, preferably in assembly? Googled without much success. Thanks.

Never mind /prog/
This tells how to use DirectX in assembly, which will do for my current requirement: http://www.deinmeister.de/wasmtute.htm
There must be some tutorial out there for sub-pixel rendering, will post if I find anything.

I don't think its possible. Wouldn't this require some hardware specific code for your monitor?

We know what subpixel rendering is, and if you've read that article you do too. When you're asking for a "tutorial in assembly" what you really mean is "can I please have some code I can copy", because once you know the principles you fucking well implement it yourself.

>>15 - It's definitely possible....will post here if I find/come up with something.

>>16 - Sure I'm asking for code I can inspect and understand and copy. Is there anything wrong with that? Would you have me reinvent the wheel every time I wanted to get something done? Why the profanity?

If your job/hobby is inventing wheels then you'd damn well better.  How are you producing anything by taking my wheel schematics and aimlessly scribbling over them in crayon?

Back to Visual Basic, please.

Alright, you win. I'm out of /prog/ for good.

And thus, nothing of value was lost.

Is Noob coming back? He said he would post something if he found it. goddamn it prog
