Database program

I am trying to write a page for someone's CD collection, like a database. I want it to have a front page with a text box and a search button. I want whatever is typed in that box to search in a database and pull up that section on a different page, like a ctrl+f type thing. Problem is, I know jack shit about html and javascript, so, if someone would be kind enough to walk me through this I would appreciate it. Thanks..

Something with multiple pages. On the first page, a search button, and a view entire database button. So when he types something in the search, it will bring up all queries with that particular word. In the database, I'm going to make each cd entry have artist, album, genre, and location... Any help on any part would be great. He has thousands of CD's, so it's going to take me forever to catalog where everything is and put the shit in alphabetical order.
