Database program

I am trying to write a page for someone's CD collection, like a database. I want it to have a front page with a text box and a search button. I want whatever is typed in that box to search in a database and pull up that section on a different page, like a ctrl+f type thing. Problem is, I know jack shit about html and javascript, so, if someone would be kind enough to walk me through this I would appreciate it. Thanks..

I didn't say write the shit, I mean like show me some tutorial sites that will help with what I am trying to do. You don't have to be a pretentious dick about it man.
