Woe is Me

I can't do the exercises in Chapter 1.

I have failed.

I will not kill myself with fire.

I dropped out of college (Computer Science) years ago, have never had a job, and have never published anything remotely interesting.  Sometimes I write patches for open-source projects, but I don't submit them.  I still consider myself a programmer.
