Vim tip: To enter the INSERT mode, hit the i key on your input device.

Vim question: How do I get current line number in vim? (Would be ctrl+c in nano)

Here's my bit of help:

quit and never return''

It's a mnemonic for the VIM quitting sequence,   esc;q!ret
Esc = escape,
; = colon,
q = quit,
! = never,
ret = return.
