Is this another Java thread?

Java? That's so 2006.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 12:21

SICP

/r/ screenshots for those of us who refuse to install a JAVA plugin.

Install a Java plugin? What kind of piece of shit of an OS are you using?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 12:49

>>6
There isn't a single browser out there that will execute Java applets without a Java plugin.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 12:50

>>7
But if you need to ``install a Java plugin'', there's something wrong with your OS.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 12:53

Because a ``real'' OS will install ENTERPRISE cancer without your permission? I bet you use Windows.

Because a real OS doesn't bother with trivial crap like installing stuff that is needed by a vast majority of its users at some point, anyway.

I bet you use Windows.
You bet wrong. Last time I saw a Windows machine, it needed a huge JRE install to get any kind of Java functionality.

bother with
bother the user with

Right. Because having some marketing drone somewhere determine what software I need is much better than letting me decide for myself.
Some of us prefer a clean system.

You sound like an angry teenager. Maybe /g/ would be a more suitable board for you?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:16

lol

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:22

You sound like someone desperately trying to find reasons to defend his own ignorance. Is /pr/ still down?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:27

2008:
1. prog
2. SICP
3. pronounce

How the mighty have fallen.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:29

>>15
You aren't making any sense.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:33

I hate java. It updates itself and never cleans the old version, so you could have 5-6 different versions of it taking nearly 1 GB of space when just taking the latest one is 100-200 MBs. I uninstalled all the old shit and it works just fine.

I hate JAVA, and I hate ENTERPRISE turkey software.

Get a real OS.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:38

>>19
Can't do that. My fappan gaems only work on XP with japanese locale.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:42

>>20
Use virtualization.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 13:47

>>18
And that is good. You are not ENTERPRISE enough.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 14:01

>>20
Virtualize utilisation.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 14:16

>>23
The noun form of ``use'' is ``usage''. ``Utilisation'' is from ``utilise''.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 14:21

>>24
I felt creative.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 14:55

>>24
``Utilization'' is much more ENTERPRISE than ``usage''.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 15:50

Still less than HASKELL.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 15:51

Fact: half of /PROG/ would rather stab themselves in the eye than install Java.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 15:53

>>25
You felt wrong.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 15:56

>>28
Fact: Not everyone is fucking paranoid and people actually install stuff on their computers.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 15:57

>>28
You don't constitute half of /prog/.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:06

>>30
Fact: But some of us are.

>>31
Neither do you.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:14

Same angry teenager trying to sound like half of /prog/ consists of similarly angry teenagers.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:21

Would my friend get angry for using non-ASCII in the email title?

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:47

>>31
Sure he does. Everyone knows there are only three posters on prawg: you, him, and the Sussman.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:47

~·~<'.^-^.'>~·~

/prog/kitten commences.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:48

>>33
Yeah, except not.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 16:48

Back to elementary school, please.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 19:01

>>35
So technically each of us constitutes 1/3 of /prog.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-20 19:04

You're at /prog/. Everything you ever said is invalid. How does that feel?
