wow, rar sucks.
7z using LZMA (Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain-Algorithm) beats pretty much everything else by a large margin for compressing this file.

but the point was that compressing with one algorithm and then compressing with a different one sometimes results in a smaller file size than just compressing with one or the other.
