About how /prog/rammers can help improve the environment.

Write everything in C!

If we use a lighter language instead of JAVA, PERL, PHP, C♯, VB, etc. we'd use less memory, and less CPU cycles - resulting in less energy usage overall.

Discuss.

Not likely. I'm guessing that in most cases, the total amount of energy invested into creating that efficient C program is greater than the amount of energy used to run that efficient program over the total lifetime of that program.
