Netbeans java output to xterm

Dear /prog/,

as i have already read my sicp today, would somebody be so kind to enlighten me how i can display the console output of a NetBeans java project in a terminal, e.g. xterm.

I can't stand the NetBeans output window anymore.

Real programmers don't need tiny fonts because their programs are properly abstracted (don't need to see guts halfway across the program) and their language is so powerful that any function fits easily on the screen.
