It's weird, but particularly pidgin developers have strong opinions againist "preferences". Adding the crappyness of libpurple (I can hear some butthurt patch submissions in this thread...) is enough to justify a fork. Because forks are that: the result of incompetent project managers.

Too bad the reason to fork is shitty and who did it is a fucking noob. There's no future for libpurple. They'll die slowly with telepathy.
