http://groups.google.com/group/gnu.announce/browse_thread/thread/113c86679943a66c

I am pleased to announce the release of GNU ed 0.9. GNU ed is an 8-bit clean, more or less POSIX-compliant implementation of the standard Unix line editor.

Who wants to bet me (>>2) will find at least one (1) exploit in that fb0c1c63ec13d8516733dd1d85c76473  ed-0.9.tar.bz2 code?

I bet you 35 cudders that you will not be able to find an exploit.

Only Theo can write secure code

I guess you won the bet <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-ed/2008-06/msg00000.html>;.

The bug is fixed in the recent release of GNU ed 1.0.  ed is the standard text editor and the release announcement is at <http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-ed/2008-08/msg00000.html>;.

Shiichan is not really at fault. Most browsers display > instead of %3E in address field. Either way, some links would be broken.

LOL

Are they still using fixed-size buffers for paths?

ed seriously needs

ed

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 15:54

>>16
vi has had UTF-8 support for a while.
and it's in POSIX, so it's a standard editor now too.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 16:22

>>19
I'll wait for the optimized, unbloated Anonix version, thanks.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 16:27

>>20
I don't think they will implement something as ridiculously bloated as a display editor.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 17:30

>>21
anonix ed will only support 7-bit ascii.

Name: herro jiasku jien 2008-08-26 19:26

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 20:37

anonix ed will only support 5-bit ascii.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-26 21:58

Anonix ed will not exist because all of anonix outside true(1) is vaporware.

I mean really, these are the same people that go to CoS protests, and they're telling us they can write a C compiler?

I know this because I've written every single one of the anoncoreutils (the pieces that the namefags didn't write anyways) and I'm just waiting for the right moment to notify them of their violation of the GPLv3.

lol no. I don't know about the others, but me Cudder and loli don't care about the CoS. And we know what GNU shit looks like.

2/10.

PROTIP: GNU doesn't have exclusive rights to use GPLv3.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-27 17:48

They even want you to use the GPLv3
