So I'm reading SICP, like always, every day. I'm finished for to-day, and, just before closing the book, I take a quick sniff. All's cool, until I realise something horrible -- there's a red smudge on my book. After quick consultation with my mirror, I conclude that my nose is bleeding. Mother-fuck, now page 149 of my SICP has a horrible red-brown linear stain all over it.

That only matters if it's the first edition... and you wouldn't be so stupid as to actually READ such a rarity... would you?

Nope; but shipping would still take a ~month, and I don't feel like not having a clean copy of SICP for such a long time.
You should expect that kind of response from reading SICP. The heads of mere mortals explode whereas you have merely suffered a nosebleed-- consider it a good sign.

Put a small amount of bleach on the stain and leave it for the evening, with the book open. The stain will have faded to almost nothing when you return in the morning.
I have a copy signed by The Sussman himself. With his own semen.
