need to be hired

Name: Anonymous 2008-02-08 2:27

I'm getting along in my CS degree but so far all I've coded in is C and assembly for MIPS and, well another architecture whose name slips my mind at the moment. I have a feeling the languages they teach you with aren't the languages people get hired for. Some kind of paid internship or part time position relating to my field of study now would be nice too. I really want to be able to work, so when I go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow what language(s) should I check out?

If you just want to get hired: Java, Visual Basic, C# (you can as well become a hooker, it's a job aswell).

If you want to learn programming, you're doing pretty well right now. Just add SICP and the rest should become a bit more clear.
