Your worries are over, /prog/

Sup /prog/, remember me? I'm that kid that keeps complaining about how much the IT industry sucks and asking for college advice.

You'll be pleased to know I've finally decided to just grit my teeth and actually put forth the effort to complete a double major with EE, and actually get respect for my knowledge while getting to work in cool stuff like DSP and Embedded Systems (or maybe something else if I anyone would like to recommend something else I should look into).

Surprisingly, all it really means is the courses I'll have to deal with will result in taking 5 courses a semester and maybe some over the summer instead of 4, and that I get to deal with more numerous and difficult technical courses (yay less English and fluff :). I will bother you no further on this subject.

Is this awesome? Y/N

Finally a non-troll =/

Also, why do I randomly hear BA for CompSci instead of the appropriate BS? I think you may be more screwed than you think if it isn't even a science degree...

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with double majors. It's only 16 credits more, so I'm not really taking many more courses each semester. It's just that the fluff courses are cut for more rigorous technical courses, but you get a second motherfuckin' degree for your trouble (and actually get respect from the science/engineering community instead of those just in comp sci who are usually looked down upon by engineers)

I'll probably do DSP and Embedded Systems, though I'm not sure if I'll look into some other possibilities as well.
