The ID codes

So was any reasoning given for making /prog/ forced anon? If so, what was the reasoning? I was on here at the time it was changed did but I didn't bother to ask.

I liked it when it was like that. Except I'd have prefered it if you could check some tickbox to make it "Anonymous" instead of your ID, without having to sage.
