ITT you try to fuck up my board

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-25 14:46

it's a basic text board written in scheme to test out plt-web-server.

http://rtfs.ath.cx/servlets/board.ss?channel=/sc/

plt-web-server compiles servlets and caches them for speed, which is nice.

oh, it uses sqlite for the database.

doesn't have bbcode yet.

You support [img] tags.

You know why /prog/ doesn't support [img] tags?

That's why.

Enjoy your Windows Virtual Memory.

Implement Scheme BBCode. It's going to be easy. Skip anything outside [], escaping it with HTML entities and writing it to output, and treat anything inside [] as Scheme code that returns HTML which is not to be escaped. Define b, /b, etc. procedures.

Also, don't use X(HT)ML, it sucks. Use what's available from HTML 5.

>>64
How do you handle stuff like [[ what ] and [da adg[ adgad ]adga] adg] then?

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-26 5:52

don't use X(HT)ML, it sucks
why?

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-26 6:50

strict is bad because?

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-26 6:52

>>68
Too strict is bad because it forces you to look at unimportant details when there are more important things to be working on

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-26 7:30

OP here

re xhtml: hm, i had the xhtml issues yesterday. requires too much fucking about with character encoding which is annoying.

re bbcode: i'll probably write some recursive parser. can probably submit it to PLaneT as a package afterwards..

So PHP is the epitome of proper programming language design?

I think he meant XML forces you to deal with stuff that is nice in a tight environment but because unrealistic/incompatible on the web.

i don't get it. xml is super easy. just keep attributes quoted, close the tags when you're done and nest each element correctly.

You forget that you're on /prog/.
