Things we hate about software

I wish it was easier to get a job programming without having to go through three or more years of shit that I already know.

Honestly... the bunch of retarded assholes I've had to work with at uni. (lecturers and students alike)... They do it because they have nothing else to do, "oh, I know how to use a computer; I should do a computer science course!" You know the type. These kids who come onto IRC or /prog/ asking dumbass questions like "how come I get an error when I append two strings with +?" Or worse, those who play games and use a bit of software, and suddenly they think they can write it.

There was one asshole on a course I did who could barely handle HTML and he wanted to do a games programming course. Like fuck, man.

Why are "programmers" these days so fucking illiterate? I know, there'll be some mistakes in what I've written here; it happens. But at least I make the effort to be coherent. AND THEN you have the hypocritical literacy nazi: he corrects your "u" and "dont" to "you" and "don't", but when you mention his crazy-ass capitalisation like that moron in another thread today, or random insertion of commas, he's like "you're being pedantic" or simply "no you're wrong." Fucking hypocrites.

ITT we bitch about everything and everyone we really hate in the software industry/comunities/internets/etc..

wow they let you work in teams. at ours they made it as if working together was cheating...yet you ended up turning in the same program as everyone else.  we formed a little group to make the program together and they would always score higher yet all the group did was change names of shit. i would rather work in a group, then on my own. if the group is full of idiots, my ego gets inflated, if it is full of people like myself, then the program our group produces makes others look like shit.
