This is kind of the concept i have.. there will be some number n cycles of assorted lengths.. smaller ones are of course harder to find individually, but there may or may not be many of them (probably quite a few at least, as they don't take up much room..) there will also be another component, i'm going to call these strands, which are formed where a chain of hashes collides with a member of a cycle.. strands are not cyclic, but will inevitably lead to a cycle.. ^^
