what the hell is /prog/?

are we career programmers, computer scientists, undergrad comp. sci students, what?
certainly we're all hobbyist programmers.  but how does this fucked up mess come into existence from that base?

We are EXPERT PROGRAMMERs. Or to be more precise, coders from all around the Internet that need to relax and come here. Some professionals as well, some guys that don't know a thing about coding and some Java guys (lol, Java).

Based on nine people that I know in real life and who come here.
