This thread has made me sad. So many virgins and poor people.
I think happiness comes down to memories worth replaying in your head. For most of us, I would think that's (1) the first 2 years dating a sweet person, (2) trips to some spectacular sights like Glacier National Park, (3) really good jokes and the parties where they were told, (4) somebody that helped you out and showed you loyalty when you were in need, and (5) really good sensual experiences like delicious coffee or early 1970s music (I guess #2 fits in this category).
Programming can be interesting and profitable, but as a source of happiness it fails.
