Are XRay and XCode fine for APPRENTICE EXPERT PROGRAMMERS ?

Mac OS X is a fine host development platform.  However, you don't really want to target only it, as it's only got a few % marketshare.  Use C++ & WxWindows, then you can sell to the Windows sheep too.
