getting disc type

I'm writing a program in C# that I can use to index my burnt cd/dvds with so I can search them and stuff. I have been trying to find out how you can detect what type of disc is in the drive but all I can find in the Windows API is shit old functions for getting what type of floppy is in a floppy drive, nothing for cd/dvds. Anybody knows how to do this?

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW etc.

But I have tried using your method and it seems like you only can get the ammount of data burned on a disc NOT the capacity of the disc, once you have burnt it. This will of course make that method very inaccurate because many times discs are not completely full. For example distinguishing between 650MB and 700MB CDs might be inaccurate. Maybe there is a way to get the capacity, i haven't looked into that enough.

Did I hurt your feelings or something?
