Alright /pr/, I have two divs. One contains a menu, the other contains the content of these pages.
I want only the content div to reload when you click on a menu item. The rest should just stay where it is. Visual elements such as .gifs or flash things should just keep rolling. The pages that are loaded contain dynamic scripts (PHP/SQL that returns XHTML and JavaScript).
How do I accomplish this? AJAX? Cache-setting? Frame? What's the best method?
FUCK OFF. PUTTING YOUR WEB LEGOS TOGETHER IS NOT PROGRAMMING!

use XHTML 2 and just change the src attribute on the div.

Web 0.9 -> Frames
Web 2.0 -> AJAX

ALRIGHT. I got that workign and shit but I get the following error in one of the pages: '+String.FromCharacterCode(34)+' that shows up in every <a> tag. For some reason I can't get rid of it (I know it's a "). I've tried converting it to nothing but then the tags are fucked up, converting it to \" won't work either.

Yes. Doesn't work. Strange thing is that I use the exact same code on a different page. The problem doesn't show up there. I'll have another look at it tomorrow, gonna quit work now. Time for /b/.
