According to http://www.tiobe.com/tiobe_index/index.htm

1 Java
2 C
3 C++
4 PHP
5 (Visual) Basic
6 Perl
7 Python
8 JavaScript
9 C#
10 Ruby

The ratings are based on the world-wide availability of skilled engineers, courses and third party vendors.

Things to notice:
* Java, PHP, Python and Ruby are all in the top 10.
* Haskell drops in at place 39 (check link)

Mm, nothing like a cup of facts to put the trolls in order.

The day I come across a "skilled PHP engineer" the world is going to collapse.

Ugh, I'm tired of hearing about Java.. it shouldn't even be a language. .__. All it's -REALLY- good for is making web applications, if even that. I think it should be..

1. C++
2. C
3 Perl
4. Python
5. PHP
6. JavaScript (maybe this should be seven)
7. Visual Basic (maybe this should be six..)
8. Ruby
9. C#
10. Java

Obscure equals good.  If Haskell breaks the top 10, I'll switch to J.

And since there is no functional programming language, this top ten is BIG FAGGOTRY made by fucktards who ain't got balls to push their faggotry to its climax and include actionscript in their top shits. Sons of bitches.

I'm glad you don't work at our company, then.

Because popularity is a good measure of adequacy. That's how we got such a great president after all!

I do PHP, and I honestly believe I do quite good. I'm not a "web sight designer". I came from a serious ground (uni and my personal studies because it's also my hobby and I have no life), and while PHP is not my favourite language, I'm paid to do it, and I'm paid to do it right.

FYI, that list comes from Google popularity.

Also,
1: Faggotry
3: Semi-faggotry
4: Semi-faggotry
5: Faggotry
8: Semi-faggotry
9: Semi-faggotry

I do miss any variant of Lisp.

Oh, truth, and I forgot to say that in my >>8, allow me to clarify: That list comes from Google popularity. This doesn't mean these languages are better. This doesn't mean >>1 is a fag.
