Lua

Here's a question that I hope someone could answer. As I was skimming over Lua's docs, I noticed it was a very versatile language, and it can do quite a lot of things. However, so far, Lua's only been used to program games (from what I hear). Why don't people use it for other things if it's relatively versatile?
