If JAVA is so shitty why does everyone still fucking keep using it!

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 18:36

It's an Enterprise Best Practice.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 18:38

Popular language in CS too.

Because of idiotic, ignorant professors

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 19:02

It is a good starting language for schools to teach because the standard libraries provide everything a beginner will need, and it is harder to fuck yourself over.  Other than that, it is a bloated piece of crap.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 19:12

>>5
Fail. It's the worst language to start because it's OO. That's antipedagogic. Second, here's the only library first year learning students need: read, write, open, close.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 20:45

>>4

Totally agree wrt profs, was simply stating a fact that it is popular in academia.

>>3 btw.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-14 21:36

Fuck you, you fail as a programmer, Java was designed to enable the creation of cross-platform portable code for the internet. and how the hell is it antipedgogic?? I know peoples that learned C++ because they had a strong foundation in Java.
So you sir FAIL YOU FUCKING FAIL YOU GET NOTHING YOU FAIL!!!

I wanna know Why is C still used if C++ is a Superset of C?!?!?!?

Lolz, java designed for the innernet?

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-15 3:09

Because of idiotic, ignorant professors
who wanted to be Enterprise Best Practice Managers

Lol. Go back to sun.com; Java was designed to be a not-particularly-high-level language for embedded applications; a purpose which it failed utterly, and then it was remarketed as a half-assed web monster which Sun paid magazines to convince retarded managers to adopt and succeeded.

It's antipedagogic because you can't teach piano by playing Beethoven's music in the first day. OO is an abstraction that should be learnt afterwards. On top of that, Java has one of the worst OO implementations ever, and if you think otherwise you clearly haven't learnt a decent OO language yourself and are not qualified to talk in this discussion.

Though I suspect you were a troll. If so, props.

Because C++ is made of suck and complex, so you end up using C++--, and the problem comes when you work with other people (as in, for most real stuff) and your definition of C++-- naturally differs from others'. Many ways to do it considered harmful. Plus some of its features bite.

No.
and complex,
Yes.
so you end up using C++--,
No.
and the problem comes when you work with other people (as in, for most real stuff) and your definition of C++-- naturally differs from others'.
This is irrelevant to the language used.
Many ways to do it considered harmful. Plus some of its features bite.
I hope that's the good bite.

No.
Yes.
No.
Enjoy your templated templates of templates, just to mention an example.
This is irrelevant to the language used.
Not when the language is so big, complex and full of "considered harmful" that you're intended to use a subset of it.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-15 7:53

Enjoy your templated templates of templates, just to mention an example.
Thanks, I will.  I usually avoid it though, as there is _one_ thing in C++ that totally pisses me off... WHY THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE TO PUT A SPACE IN BETWEEN THE >s WHEN DEFINING TEMPLATES HUH GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-15 8:49

Templates are a lame, futile, failed-from-the-start attempt at alleviating the inconvenience of not having a duck-typed language.

Name: Anonymous 2006-12-15 9:00

duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.
duck-typed language.

It's a tic-tac-toe game (although I haven't figured out how to move yet), you can see the computer's move in the middle after running it.

programming is not documentation.
documentation is not programming.

java somehow manages to mix them up and fails at both.

If you think javadoc is the biggest problem with java, you have a long long left to learn.
