I want to learn C and C++. I've got a solid foundation in Java for the past year and a half in my KOLLAGE, but that's the only real programming they offer in my degree (other than ksh, bsh, etc. scripting) and I want to learn more.

What are some good books to read up on?

Do it the right way. The way I did. The way my father did. And we're both older than you.

This is the newer "Second edition". Get a copy of the original K&R if you're hardcore enough.

Then proceed to update yourself with details on ISO C99, especially those regarding wide characters.

Oh and kill C++ with fire.
