C# is like Delphi with a vaguely C++-like syntax. Needless to say, it retains its bondage and discipline Pascal roots. I really want to like it, but... I can't. It's no good for low-level stuff, and it's too heavy-handed for application programming.

Use Vb.Net instead. It's the same API but the IDE and the syntax are nicer and quicker to use.
