IT Retardedness

I was at home in between classes and work, and my mom was home telecommuting.  I overheard there needed to be some change to some C code, and no one knew C.  I asked if I could see it, and I wanted to know the task.  It was C code for a barcode scanner and all it had to do was allow another barcode type to be scanned.  Which was pretty easy to figure out from looking at the rest of the code, so I made some alterations and my mother told her boss that it was done, just hadn't been compiled yet... he freaked out and said what we were doing was illegal.  So she told me to stop, and I was like "LOL FINE" and now they had to hire someone on or something that probably cost the company thousands of dollars, heh whatever.  After 2 weeks the C programmer that was hired on checked the altered code and compiled it (he said he had to work a weekend on it, even though he made no further changes)

Now, I don't know C well enough to code much more than hello world and if then statements in C... can I put this on my resume? "Got hold of source code illegally, made correct alterations"?
